Strengthening Gas Infrastructure, In 2025 PGN Adds 230 km of Pipeline

Date:

Jakarta, TAMBANG, – Gas is one of the energy sources whose demand continues to increase. PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk (PGN) as Pertamina Gas Subholding has again emphasized its commitment to expanding access to clean energy, especially gas. One of them is by strengthening the national natural gas infrastructure.

PGN currently manages more than 95% of the national natural gas infrastructure. In 2025, PGN will succeed in adding more than 230 km of distribution pipeline networks. The growth of the natural gas pipeline network has encouraged PGN to strengthen the integration of the pipeline network with non-pipeline infrastructure.

It is hoped that this will further ensure that natural gas services are more extensive, reliable and reach various levels of society. This step is also part of PGN’s strategy to face increasing domestic energy needs to support the transition to cleaner and more efficient energy.

Throughout 2025, PGN will distribute 836 BBTUD of natural gas to various customer segments, in line with the growth in the number of customers to >830,300 customers. The integration of pipe and non-pipe infrastructure is considered to be an important foundation in strengthening energy security and expanding service coverage to various regions and customer segments.

PGN Corporate Secretary Fajriyah Usman explained that 2026 will be a strategic phase for the company in optimizing integrated infrastructure. This is also to strengthen PGN’s natural gas distribution pipeline network, which over the last 3 years has continued to grow.

On the other hand, PGN enters 2026 with a more solid position because during 2025 PGN has strengthened its foundation, namely by ensuring strong HSSE aspects, reliable operations, healthy finances, prudent risk management and disciplined governance.

Fundamentally, PGN’s core business in the midstream and downstream also remains strong, operational and financial performance continues to show good resilience, with revenue increasing and operational cash flow remaining positive.
“PGN will continue to integrate pipeline and non-pipe networks to reach new areas while increasing the reliability of natural gas distribution to customers. Strengthening infrastructure is also the foundation for expanding access to cleaner energy and increasing national competitiveness,” explained Fajriyah (12/3).

Infrastructure strengthening is carried out in an integrated manner with PGN’s subsidiary entities, including Pertagas, PGN LNG Indonesia, Gagas Energi Indonesia, and Nusantara Regas. This synergy allows optimization of services ranging from households, MSMEs, industry, transportation, to public service sectors such as hospitals and social facilities.

“Managing natural gas infrastructure carries high risks, so technology integration and implementation of safety standards are top priorities. With a strong and integrated infrastructure foundation, PGN is optimistic that it can continue to expand access to natural gas for the community while supporting national energy security,” concluded Fajriyah.
