Harita Nickel Grows Consistently with a Strong Sustainability Commitment

Date:

Jakarta, MINE – PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk (NCKL) or Harita Nickel, strengthens its commitment to responsible mining practices while recording stable and positive performance until the third quarter of 2025.

This solid performance is in line with the company’s ongoing steps to grow economic value while ensuring a positive impact on society and the environment.

As part of this commitment, Harita Nickel is now the first company in Indonesia to undergo a full Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance (IRMA) audit, the most comprehensive global standard for sustainability assessment in the mining sector.

Harita Nickel’s IRMA audit is currently in the review stage, and covers more than 30,000 workers and contractors throughout the company’s operational chain, making it the largest IRMA audit with workforce coverage in the world.

“The combination of progress in implementing global sustainability standards and solid financial performance reflects the company’s consistent efforts to grow economic value while maintaining social and environmental balance,” said Lukito Gozali, Head of Investor Relations at Harita Nickel. “Participation in the IRMA audit is an important step to ensure that all our business processes run in line with global standards and provide benefits to society,” added Lukito.

As part of steps towards a clean energy transition, Harita Nickel is accelerating the installation of solar panels with a capacity of 40 MWp on Obi Island, South Halmahera, North Maluku. As of October 2025, construction progress has reached 38%, with installations spread across the roofs of employee living areas and on the roofs of production facilities. This project is expected to reduce carbon emissions and increase energy efficiency in the nickel industrial area.

In the social sector, Harita Nickel has operated an integrated waste management facility (TPST) in the new Kawasi Village settlement which is capable of processing around 1.8 tons of waste per day into compost and recycled materials. In the same area, the company is also developing a new economic zone with more than 20 active kiosks owned by local communities and opening business opportunities and strengthening the economic independence of residents.

In line with this sustainability commitment, Harita Nickel recorded positive operational and financial performance until the third quarter of 2025. During the first nine months of this year, the company posted revenues of IDR 22.40 trillion. This achievement reflects the results of sustainable efficiency and optimization of the High Pressure Acid Leach (HPAL) and Rotary Kiln Electric Furnace (RKEF) facilities which are operating stably on Obi Island, South Halmahera, as well as strategic steps towards increasing production capacity through the construction of a new smelter.

Currently, the company is continuing construction of the 3rd RKEF facility (KPS) with a production capacity of up to 185,000 tons of nickel content in ferronickel per year. As of October 2025, progress in the second phase has reached 91%, while the third phase has reached 44%. This facility will strengthen Harita Nickel’s contribution to the downstream national nickel industry and strengthen the company’s competitiveness. Based on a balance between solid financial performance, strong governance, and concern for social and environmental matters, Harita Nickel emphasizes its role as a company that grows responsibly and provides real benefits for society and the future of the Indonesian nickel industry.
