Jakarta, MINE – The United Tractors Corporate University building located in Cakung, East Jakarta is officially certified as an EDGE Green building.
This certification was issued on February 25 2026 by the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI) with reference to global standards from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), after going through an audit process on February 12 2026.
More than just a learning facility, UT Corporate University now exists as a real representation of the company’s commitment to integrating sustainability principles into its operations.
This building managed to record impressive performance with energy savings of up to 67%, water use efficiency of 33%, and a reduction in embodied carbon materials reaching 99%.
This figure far exceeds the EDGE minimum standard which requires 20% efficiency for energy, water and materials, and exceeds the 40% energy efficiency threshold for the EDGE Advanced category.
“Achieving this EDGE Advanced certification is a concrete manifestation of our commitment to integrating sustainability principles into every aspect of the company’s operations, including the development of learning facilities. We believe that energy, water and material efficiency efforts not only have a positive impact on the environment, but also create long-term value for the company,” said Head of Corporate Communications and Sustainability Division UT, Dianwahyu Sri Purnomo in an official statement, Monday (30/3).
This success cannot be separated from the implementation of various technological innovations and environmentally friendly designs. Starting from the use of high-performance glass which can reduce excess heat, energy-saving LED lighting systems, to roof insulation which increases building efficiency. UT also utilizes renewable energy through an On-Grid Solar PV system with a capacity of 36.72 kWp and optimizes the air conditioning (HVAC) system with high efficiency technology.
On the other hand, water efficiency is realized through the use of water-saving devices such as eco-shower, faucettoilets, and urinals, as well as systems rainwater harvesting which functions to recycle rainwater and is used to meet the operational needs of the building. Meanwhile, from the material aspect, a sustainability approach is carried out by reusing existing building structures and using materials that are more efficient and have lower carbon emissions.
The process of obtaining EDGE certification itself goes through comprehensive stages, starting from identifying opportunities for implementing green building concepts, pre-assessment and reporting simulations, preparing official reports, to auditing and validation by certification bodies before finally issuing a certificate.
This entire process ensures that every aspect of the building meets sustainability standards across the board.
By achieving this EDGE Advanced certification, UT not only strengthens its position as a sustainability-oriented company, but also shows an active role in supporting the reduction of carbon emissions and encouraging the implementation of green building concepts in Indonesia.
Going forward, UT is committed to continuing to provide impactful and sustainable innovation, in line with the company’s vision of creating a greener and more responsible future.
